Explore the hills of Transylvania on horseback and discover colorful meadows, majestic beech and oak forests, medieval remote villages and many more!
The guide will pick you up from Sibiu, from your hotel/pension/apartment. Then we drive for 1 hr to Apos village. From here we take the horses and enjoy the ride for the rest of the day.
The trails are going mostly through forests, off the beaten tracks, as well trough open meadows.
The program includes visits to the nearby villages of Richis and Copsa Mare. First, we take the old and dirt road to Richis – used to be probably one of the wealthiest villages, famous for wine making. The majestic Gothic-style Evangelical church (1541), erected by the Cistercian monks is a must for a visit.
Then we cross the hill in order to reach Copsa Mare, a small village with 300 inhabitants. We will serve a tasty - local lunch in the old parish house, then we visit the fortified church. A climb in the watchtower here worth for a spectacular view over the long and narrow valley.
Arriving back to Apos in the afternoon.
Drive to the same hotel in Sibiu.
Note: the necessary equipment for horse riding (helmets, safety vests and gloves) is provided by us.
